2026 animal husbandry policy adjustment
2026 animal husbandry policy adjustment, promoting high-quality and large-scale transformation of the industry
Multiple signals of industrial policy adjustment will promote the upgrading of livestock breeding enterprises. At the beginning of 2026, the policies of the livestock breeding industry will be adjusted in a centralized way. The benefits of relief will go hand in hand with the optimization of subsidies, and the industry will be transformed into high-quality, large-scale, and autonomous industries. On the one hand, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has issued the "2026 National Animal Disease Immunization Technical Guidelines", which clarifies vaccine selection, immunization procedures, and efficacy monitoring standards for four key diseases such as highly pathogenic avian influenza and foot-and-mouth disease. It requires large-scale farms and free range households to follow differentiated immunization procedures, with a herd immunization pass rate of not less than 70%, to build a biosafety barrier for breeding enterprises.
On the other hand, some regions have optimized and adjusted subsidies for animal husbandry. Starting from January 1, 2026, Jilin Province will cancel four subsidies for foreign breeding, embryo production promotion, and straw feed conversion operations. Provincial finance will no longer provide relevant financial support, guiding enterprises to reduce their dependence on foreign introductions and enhance their ability to cultivate local seed sources. On the market side, the live pig futures of Dalian Commodity Exchange showed a slight fluctuation, and the overall supply and demand pattern was stable. Industry insiders said that the current policy combination not only reduces the burden on breeding enterprises through relief policies, but also forces enterprises to upgrade through subsidy adjustments and disease prevention and control. It is recommended that breeding entities seize the local relief policy application node, adjust production plans reasonably in combination with market fluctuations, and seize opportunities for industrial upgrading.
