Gansu Guazhou's forage industry full chain upgrade
The whole chain upgrade of the forage industry in Guazhou, Gansu Province, and the implementation of green circulation of grass and livestock have yielded results
Guazhou County's forage industry undergoes a full chain upgrade, with 90% of straw feed empowering high-quality development in aquaculture
In January 2026, the forage industry in Guazhou County, Gansu Province, will enter a new stage of high-quality development. Through the full chain layout of high-quality forage planting, straw resource utilization, and crop breeding cycle, stable momentum will be injected into local animal husbandry. At present, the county has built a 12000 acre high-quality and high-yield alfalfa demonstration base, forming a planting pattern centered on purple clover and silage corn. With the support of the "Grain to Feed" project, the whole plant corn silage technology has been promoted, greatly improving the quality of forage and laying a solid foundation for the large-scale breeding of cattle and sheep.
With the help of the central government's straw comprehensive utilization project, Guazhou County has built two straw feed pellet production lines and three specialized collection, storage, and transportation centers, constructing an integrated network of "collection, storage, transportation, processing, and use". The utilization rate of straw feed in the county has risen to over 90%. The local area also cultivates an industrial model of "enterprise+cooperative+farmer". Caoxiangxiang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. has an annual processing capacity of over 8000 tons of straw. The Guangshun Cooperative in Yaozhanzi Town drives more than 100 farmers to raise cattle through order planting and equity dividends. Farmers can share the benefits of the industrial chain by selling straw and working nearby. At the same time, the local area has built a livestock and poultry manure resource treatment center, forming a closed loop of "planting for grass and breeding for fertilizer", achieving green and sustainable development of the grass and livestock industry.
